Ceili's Downtown Calgary Wedding
Ceili is a Scottish Gaelic word for a gathering with music, singing, and dancing, which made Ceili’s Downtown Calgary the perfect location for Brad and Liz’s wedding as that’s exactly what they wanted for their wedding reception. Getting rid of the formal version of a wedding was an important factor for Brad and Liz, as they were really after something more relaxed and fun.
A quick ceremony at the Gerry Thomas Art Gallery was officiated by Laurie Rupert, before guests braved a rare May snow storm to head to Ceili’s for the reception while Brad & Liz went for pictures with Jill Coursen Photography.
Once Liz and Brad joined their guests at their downtown Calgary wedding location the party got into full swing with food and drinks, followed by one of the best dance floors we’ve seen so far this year!
Music was a hugely important detail for Brad and Liz as Brad used to promote bands around Southern Alberta, so they didn’t really want the typical songs you hear at most weddings. Their request list featured less requested bands like Amos Lee, The Cranberries, First Aid Kit, and Glen Hansard, but also favorites like Drake, Justin Timberlake, and Justin Bieber.
And their first dance? One of our favorites – Beyond by Leon Bridges.
